Pianist Yifan Wu drew international attention after winning both First Prize and the Audience Prize at the 65th Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, becoming the first Chinese pianist in the history of the competition to win the top prize. His performances have been praised by newspapers and critics for "unfolding stories at the keyboard like a poet, grounded in the spirit of Schumann." His refined sound, imbued with a quiet poetic luminosity, has left a lasting impression on audiences and critics alike.

Prior to his success at the Busoni Competition, Wu established a strong presence on the international stage by winning First Prize at the Singapore International Piano Competition in 2023 and the Jacob Flier International Piano Competition in 2024. A Steinway Artist, he has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall, and the SOTA Concert Hall in Singapore. His playing, distinguished by delicate tonal colors, poetic narrative, and profound insight into the works he performs, has received widespread acclaim.

Following his success at the Busoni Competition, Wu made his debut at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Recital Hall, where his performance was praised for "building a musical world of his own with a sophistication that transcends his age, while resisting the uniformity of contemporary performance styles."  In Europe, he has been performing recitals across Italy, appearing in prestigious festivals such as Bolzano Bozen Summer Festival, MITO SettembreMusica and Festival Liszt in Grottamare. Concerto performances include the collaboration between Orchestra Ferrucio Busoni and Orchestra Haydn.

Besides piano, he is also a keen lover for historical keyboard instruments, musicology and photography.
